A heist gone wrong....in all the right ways!

After a tiring day at the office, I need to recharge myself so I asked my friends if we could watch a movie. I was really torn between Batman The Dark Knight and The Bank Job but then I asked them if we could watch the latter....guess what, they agreed! weeeee!!!! During the first half hour of the movie, I did get quite bored (hoping my friends wasn't hahaha ) but when the heist gets under way, the movie got back my attention and left me thrilled. The movie directed by Roger Donaldson and starred by Jason Statham (Terry Leather) and Saffron Burrows (Martine Love). It was really a great movie and it gets everything right! I really recommend this movie...definitely worth watching!!! It is really indeed a true story of a heist gone wrong, in all the right ways.

Based on the true story of the 1971 Baker Street bank robbery which was prevented from being told for over thirty years because of a Government gagging order. The real story of how one of the biggest robberies in British history took place with no arrests ever made nor money ever recovered. Written by Mark Thomas

In September 1971, thieves tunneled into the vault of a bank in London's Baker Street and looted safe deposit boxes of cash and jewelry worth over three million pounds. None of it was recovered. Nobody was ever arrested. The robbery made headlines for a few days and then disappeared - the result of a 'D' Notice, gagging the press. This film reveals what was hidden for the first time. The story involves murder, corruption and a sex scandal with links to the Royal Family - a story in which the thieves were the most innocent people involved. Written by The Production

Chun, Calvin finds Filipina enthusiasm memorable

Chun, Calvin finds Filipina enthusiasm memorable

“Romantic Princess” Philippines promotion activity, Chun, Calvin makes juice

The consecutive three days of promotional activities for the GTV drama [Romantic Princess], finally concluded with a fan club function two days ago. Even though both Wu Chun and Calvin Chen were sad that they had to leave, they also felt deeply the demonstrative enthusiasm of the Filipina. Two days ago when they went on various programs of Philippines’ biggest cable TV station ABS-CBN, the female reporter started off the interview in a serious manner. It was unexpected that after the interview finished, she immediately displayed an expression like a little fan and rushed to Calvin. She even took the initiative to give him a kiss by the ear, startled Calvin in the process. Later he indicated that he was very surprised.

For the promotion of [Romantic Princess], they had to travel throughout Asia, including Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Philippines. Chatting about the cultural and social differences of each country, the two had their own individual opinions. Calvin said:” Indonesian friends always present us with flower wreaths and fruit juice. The Japanese always starts with everyone doing a “Love Encouragement” together and adds a 90 degree bow but in comparison, the Philippines are the most enthusiastic. Even the Filipina hostess of the program would take the initiative and hugged me by the waist.”

Originally the location of the fan club function could only admit 200 people but there were simply too many fans waiting outside in the rain. The TV station specially allowed 500 fans to enter. The fan club function took place in a mini-theatre and even the stairs and hallway were filled with people. But there were still fans who started to cry when they waited in vain outside in order to take pictures with Wu Chun. They even yelled out in English at the location: “I came at 7 am this morning and still was unable to take pictures!” When he learned of this, Wu Chun also felt that it was regrettable. However because all the programs were broadcasted live, they did not want to delay any program taping schedules. He hoped that next time there will be another opportunity to come.

During the fan club function, the two of them first picked the lucky fans who would receive [Romantic Princess]-related products. Just seeing the two of them at close proximity, the fans already lost control. When they went on stage and received the gifts personally handed to them by their idol, they totally went crazy. Some fans tried to go directly into Chun’s embrace and others hugged Calvin tightly and refused to let go, making the staff there broke in cold sweat. Next the two of them made blended smoothies. Wu Chun chose the locally most popular mango, plus yogurt and honey. Calvin Chen chose to use watermelon and honey. After they finished making the smoothies, Wu Chun even playfully pretended to be a hawker and called out to the fans there: “Who wants to buy? $100 a glass.” His tactics sent audience laughing uproariously. Calvin Chen said that he was very knowledgeable regarding fruit juice drinks because he had worked for 2 months in a juice bar before, even used the earning to buy a motorcycle. He said that the customer would felt the drink was more aromatic if honey was added.

Wu Chun jumps over to movies, Calvin turn to hosting

Calvin, Chun experiences the well-know Phillipine horse coach riding

Fahreheit has been really famous, seeing that Wu Zun has slowly moved over to the big screens to act in movie ‘Butterfly Lovers’, Calvin Chen is secretly planning to change route and have his first try at hosting!

Wu Zun and Calvin Chen visited Philippines for GTV’s ‘Romantic Princess’, the two had a PK for popularity, for two days consecutive, the local media reports have crossed many pages having a huge coverage but mostly its about Wu Zun. Be it news reports or photos, Wu Zun had the most coverage, but in reality, the 2 are equally popular among fans, Calvin Chen was bear-hugged, kissed at the lower ear and nearly was kissed at his most sensitive area. At the hotel he stayed, he even had fans calling him in the middle of the night to greet him, different from Wu Zun, Calvin Chen’s smile has charms and is more friendly.

Endorsing Taiwan tourism bureau, Fahrenheit introduces scenic spots

Recently, Fahrenheit pushes F4 out of the way and became the new endorser for Taiwan tourism with aims to attack the Korea and Japan market. From known, the main theme for Fahrenheit will be different from the drama ‘Wish to See You Again’ acted by F4. This time they are planning a travel program to introduce the different scenic spots in Taiwan, and they are thinking of getting the member with the highest qualification from Fahrenheit, which is Calvin Chen who is currently studying Public Finance at National Chengchi University to host the program. And from known, Calvin Chen’s management company, Comic Productions Co., Ltd is also currently planning to let him have a switch in the route, while Wu Zun, Jiro Wang and Aaron Yan are acting as the male lead in dramas, they want to let Calvin Chen begin hosting.

Speaking of the change in route to hosting, Calvin Chen said frankly, “I always had this idea, and is very interested” In April this year, he had a outdoor shooting for a Japan program ‘CI-POP WORLD’, and dated a girl who was over 100 kg, this first try at hosting a segment let him had taste of how hosting is like but whether he whether he will be hosting will still depend on time as they are in the midst of having a concert for Fahrenheit. As for the travel program, he said that currently he’s not sure, but if it’s really true, of course he will feel honored.

Wu Zun loves to bicker, especially likes to compete for cold jokes

Although stuck in the awkard stage of changing routes but the friendship of Wu Zun and Calvin Chen still did not change in the Philippines promotion. On the road, the 2 were always bickering, when the crew asked if Wu Zun if he still want one more beer, Calvin Chen purposely said, “He wants two more!” At one stage, they joked that they are not going to talk and have cold war, but in a blink of an eye, they were talking non-stop again and kept putting the other party down.

If ever you're planning a trip to Boracay, DON'T EVER STAY at VILLA SIMPROSA RESORT (formerly GP's)

Robber/s broke into our room while we were sleeping! They took our camera, celphones, and wallet.

The owner doesn’t give a shit that their guests’ safety was compromised! They just don’t give a shit!

Here’s how the story goes:

On our last night at Boracay, we all went to sleep at around 3 am after a long day of snorkeling, swimming, drinking and having fun.

One of us woke up at around 7am, he noticed that the door was open. After checking around, he suddenly realized that a lot of our stuff is missing: camera, celphones, wallet.

He then alerts everyone that we we’re robbed. We reported it to the girl in the front desk, and she told us to wait and never returned.

While waiting for their action we noticed that their screen door did not have the lock that was supposed to slide in place. We then tried using an I.D. to see if it was possible to open the locked wooden door from the outside, to our surprise, it was easy, got it opened in less that 8 to 10 seconds maybe (tried it twice).

We then decided to go back to the reception and ask for the owner, for he alone can decide what to do. They told us that the owner was in Kalibo at that time. We asked for his number and they gave us a card. We tried calling him twice with no success. The resort staff doesn’t have the initiative to contact the owner and just stands there like nothing has ever happened.

When we told them that we will not pay for the lodging until we get to talk to the owner, that’s when they panicked and called the owner’s wife. The wife then talks to us and as we explained what happened she insists that if a lost item was not deposited at the front desk it was no longer their responsibility. Why the hell will we deposit items with them if we were right there sleeping?!

She asked what time we found out about it and when we told her its around 7am, she asked us why we waited till around 9am to report it. She was surprised when we told her we did but their staff didn’t inform her (we wonder why???)

We don’t want to speculate but what are the odds of it happening on the day that we were leaving and had no time to investigate further. Why didn’t their staff inform them/her right away? Could it be an inside job happening right under the owner’s noses? and the front desk people knew we were drinking and tired and they knew it was our last day. We’re just wondering…

When everything was calming down and after the initial irritation, it was when we thought about the fact that a stranger entered our room while we were sleeping and DEFENSELESS. It was our safety that was compromised and we wouldn’t want this to happen to anyone.

When we declared the facts to the owner’s wife she was very unprofessional and fickle minded about it. Here are our complains and her answers:

1) Our complain: The guard was asleep long before we were

Her answer: We will let you talk to the agency and the guard (this one we can make logic with, but had no time to do)

2) Our complain: There was no lock on your screen (making the wooden door accessible)

Her answer: My husband was walking around till 3am and saw no one enter your room (one; she didn’t answer the question. and two; what if it happened while your husband was not passing by our room or if it happened after 3am DUHHH!)

3) Our complain: The wooden door can be easily opened with a card (a thief would have something more than just a card)

Her answer: My husband was walking around till 3am and saw no one enter your room (one, she didn’t answer the question AGAIN. and two, if her husband was standing outside our unit from 3am to 7am then make this statement, if he was not; shut the f_ _k up about it)

4) Our complain: We did the necessary precaution (lock the door) but still our room was robbed while we were sleeping and our safety was compromised.

Her answer: you should have deposited your valuables at the front desk (look here stupid, we were in the room sleeping, it was NOT as though we went out and the room was robbed.) Continuation to her answer: It is indicated that whatever gets lost in /out of the room will not be the management’s responsibility. (fool! this is a not just a robbery issue, it is a safety issue! what if one of us got surprised and all hell broke lose? we had a child with us.)

All they could do was call the police, the police told them we had to go down to their station to file a report but we didn’t have time for all of the investigation. Even if the cops investigate on it, our question now is what is the management going to do or offer us? We lost 2 phones, a wallet, and a camera. The phones and wallet can be replaced but the 400 plus shots we took with that cam is lost forever. Maybe we don’t have to pay because it was their fault (sleeping guard, no screen lock, easy to open unreliable wooden door) and we did the necessary precaution. Or at the least a discount. Guess what? Nothing. They offered nothing.

Don’t let this happen to you, NEVER EVER STAY AT VILLA SIMPROSA RESORT BORACAY. Don’t be lured with their cheaper rate. Your safety is far more important.

This is a first-hand experience and we don't want this to happen to you. Please pass this around and don’t ever let this happen to your family and friends.
